Ik heb vanaf mijn 16e tot 23e levensjaar regelmatig aan Tomos 4L bromfietsen zitten sleutelen voor zowel vrienden als mijzelf en eigenlijk is dat altijd in het achterhoofdje blijven hangen als een mogelijke hobby voor later. Ik ben natuurlijk een stuk ouder nu (1959) en helaas is Tomos Nederland gestopt met de productie van het model 4L maar het blijkt dat er nog best veel mensen bezig zijn met het restaureren en onderhouden van deze modellen. Bovendien blijkt dat tal van onderdelen nog leverbaar zijn, al dan niet origineel of in een imitatie-uitvoering.
